Tulip Season

The tulips are in peak bloom proper now within the entrance yard.  I’ve just a few later blooming sorts, however not as many because the ‘Salmon Impression’ and ‘Jaap Groot’ above.

A few weeks in the past the entrance yard seemed like this – turning inexperienced, however not very colourful.

This week it is stuffed with colour from the tulips and the ‘Emerald Blue’ creeping phlox.

I just lately divided and transplanted a number of extra ‘Pink Tea Cup’ Lenton roses (Helleborus) across the entrance flower beds.  They’re on the finish of their bloom season now.

Additionally blooming now are fluffy mounds of ‘White Splendor’ windflower (Anemone blanda).

A brand new ‘Little Satan’ ninebark (Physocarpus) provides maroon colour to the scene.  I additionally planted a number of ‘Mahogany’ coral bells (Heuchera) across the entrance beds.  I like the way in which these vegetation join the house to the yard by echoing the colour of the shutters.

The ‘Coral Supreme’ peonies are beautiful in leaf in the back of this photograph, and in a few weeks they’re going to begin including their very own shiny colour to the view.
